Elpuertoonubensetiene lavocacióndeserhubdeentradaparaEspañayEuropa de los productos procedentes de las islas Canarias y norte de África. Servicios Los concesionarios establecidos enel puertodeHuelva ofrecen servicios orientados al tráfico de productores perecederos, siendo el frío una apuesta importante conconexiones frigoríficas en la terminal decontenedores, en lazonapre-embarque ro-ro, almacenes de frío en zona de servicio del puerto así como en la periferia de la ciudad. Parael tráficohortofrutícolaestáel PuestodeControl Fronterizo (PCF) delmuelle Sur del Puerto de Huelva, que da servicio a la mercancía que se mueve tanto en contenedor como enmodo ro-ro. La proximidad del PCF a los muelles de contenedores y de tráfico ro-ro hace que los movimientos sean cortos y eficientes para no penalizar económicamente a las cargas. Proyectos de futuro Este año estáprevista la inauguracióndel hub logísticodel frío, unas instalaciones frigoríficasparacargas congeladasyrefrigeradasenelmuelleSur. Losproductos hortofrutícolas representan uno de los segmentos que contempla la actividad de estas instalaciones. Durante al año 2024 también se aumentará el número de tomas eléctricas para camiones con carga refrigerada en las zonas de pre-embarque y desembarque del muelle dedicado a buques ro-ro. Connectivity and trade The port of Huelva continues to be a benchmark in the trade of fruit and vegetable from/to theCanary Islands-Peninsulawith amovement of 172,101 tons of fruits, vegetables and legumes in 2023, which represents an increase of 16.8% compared to the previous year. The port of Huelva has the vocation of being an entry hub for Spain and Europe for products fromthe Canary Islands andNorthAfrica. Services The concessionaires established in the port of Huelva offer services aimed at the tradeofperishableproducers, as reeferbusinessbeingan importantassetwith refrigerated connections at the container terminal and at the ro-ro pre-boarding area, and countingon refrigeratedwarehouseswithin the service areaof theport as well as on the outskirts of the city. TheSouthPier of thePort ofHuelva counts ontheBorderControl Post for the fruit andvegetable trade, providing the necessary services toboth containerized as well as ro-ro cargo. The proximity of the Border Control Post to container terminals and ro-ro docks permits smooth, short and efficient movements so as not to economically jeopardize the cargo. Future projects This year, the inauguration of the cold logistics hub is planned, a refrigeration facility for frozen and refrigerated cargo at the South Pier. Horticultural products represent one of the segments covered by the activity of these facilities. During the year 2024, the number of electrical outlets for trucks with reefer cargowill also be increased in the pre-boarding and disembarkation areas of the dock dedicated to ro-ro vessels.
