NAVIERAS QUE OPERAN ACTUALMENTE EN EL PUERTO En el Port de Barcelona operan 40 navieras (la práctica totalidad de las compañías de cruceros presentes en el Mediterraneo). PRINCIPALES NOVEDADES QUE PRESENTAN EN SEATRADE CRUISE GLOBAL Este año, tendrán ocho barcos que harán escala por primera vez en el Port de Barcelona, entre ellos, el “MSC Euribia”, el nuevo crucero de MSC propulsado por GNL. Y el 20% de las escalas previstas serán de buques preparados para funcionar con GNL, lo que confirma el éxito de la estrategia seguida por el Port de Barcelona para atraer a los barcos más sostenibles de la flota mundial. Este año, el 62% de las escalas serán de buques que tienen menos de 10 años, por tanto, son los buques más nuevos y más eficientes. INFRASTRUCTURE FOR CRUISE SHIPS The Port of Barcelona has seven passenger terminals exclusively for cruise ships, equipped with the latest passenger embarkation and disembarkation systems and 2,500 meters of berthing line, 1,680 meters of which are on a single quay. In total, the cruise terminals operating in the Catalonian port have a surface area of over 38,000 square meters. The new state-of-the-art MSC terminal is expected to be operational in 2024, and will be equipped with onshore power facilities, as well as LNG fuel operations, in line with both the Port of Barcelona’s and MSC’s commitment to environmental sustainability.
