Servicios El Puerto de Algeciras cuenta con dos terminales de contenedores equipadas conmás de 5.200 enchufesmonitorizados 24/7. En cuanto al almacenamiento refrigerado, la capacidad -tanto dentro como fuera del recinto portuario- es de 30.000 palés a temperaturas que pueden oscilar entre los -22 y los +15ºC. Además, realizan el cold treatment a los cítricos que tienen como destino países como China o EE.UU., tratamiento que se realiza en las instalaciones de almacenamiento refrigerado del puerto. No se puede olvidar tampoco el uso del Certificado FitosanitarioDigital desde 2020, lo que agiliza el proceso de inspección documental, o la preevaluación documental de los expedientes antes de la llegada a puerto de la mercancía contenerizada. El Puerto de Algeciras cuenta con un Puesto de Control Fronterizo (PCF) y la institución trabaja ahorapara ampliar un 150%las puertas destinadas a inspección vegetal. De esta forma, serían un total de 30 puertas -18 más que las 12 actuales- las destinadas en exclusiva a productos vegetales. Las obras comenzarán este año. Proyectos de futuro Además de lamencionada ampliaciónde las instalaciones del PCF, el Puertode Algeciras trabaja en la reducciónde lahuellade carbono en la logísticadel frío. Para ello, las terminales se están dotando de placas solares para aprovechar la energía fotovoltaica, mientras que cada vezmás clientes quieren transportar sumercancía vía ferrocarril para lo que se ha puesto enmarchaun servicio ferroviario reefer con Madrid.
