La Estación Marítima de Melilla cuenta con servicios de restauración, aseos y tiendas de regalos/recuerdos en su interior. Además, es accesible en toda su superficie y cuenta con una parada de taxi en su salida. Dicha estación se encuentra conectada a los muelles Ribera I, Ribera II y Nordeste I a través de pasarela fija y conexión a los buques vía fingers hidráulicos. El muelle Nordeste I, además, cuenta con un pasillo rodante mecánico para facilitar el acceso a los pasajeros. Esta infraestructura da servicio tanto a buques de pasajeros en régimen regular como a buques de crucero. Por otro lado, la Autoridad Portuaria ha adaptado la explanada y el muelle del NEII para las operaciones de cruceros con las ventajas que supone unmayor espacio para el estacionamiento de autobuses, el posicionamiento de conexiones entre el puerto y el centro de la ciudad, el control de la Policía Nacional y la protección de la Guardia Civil. La Autoridad Portuaria de Melilla tiene en licitación el Proyecto del nuevo Muelle de Grandes Esloras que permitirá la creación de un atraque específico de cruceros enclavado junto a la Marina Deportiva y las Playas de Melilla. INFRASTRUCTURE FOR CRUISE SHIPS There are two areas in the commercial port of Melilla that cater for cruise traffic. The Melilla passenger terminal has restaurants, toilets and gift/souvenir shops. It is also accessible throughout and has a taxi rank at the exit. This terminal is connected to the Ribera I, Ribera II and Nordeste I quays by means of a fixed gangway and connects to the ships using hydraulic jet bridges. The Nordeste I Quay also has amechanical moving walkway for passenger access. This infrastructure serves both regular passenger ships and cruise ships. In addition, the Port Authority has adapted the esplanade and the NEII quay for cruise ship operations providing more space for coaches, for connections between the port and the city center, police security control and a Civil Guard post. The Port Authority of Melilla is tendering the project for the new long quay whichwill enable the construction of a specific berth for cruise ships located next to the marina and the beaches of Melilla.
