Its perfect logistics machinery serves the province’s manufacturing industry. The Port of Castellon occupies a strategic location, making it a gateway to the Mediterranean, Africa, the Middle East, and the Black Sea. It also has other shipping lines that connect it to over 101 countries all over the world. It has diversified traffic, and its roadmap is based on continuous improvement in sustainability, digital transformation, and competitiveness. The development of a four million square metre logistics platform, the extension of the South Dock and the construction of an intermodal station in the surrounding area have made it an attractive port for investment. FACTS AND FIGURES In 2022, a total of 19,000 tonnes of fruit and vegetables were handled, almost doubling the total reached in 2021 (11,791 tonnes). SERVICES AND PROJECTS PortCastelló is the perfect logistics platform for handling perishable products. It has excellent facilities to offer an efficient, high-quality service. These include dedicated quays and terminals, reefer connections, cold stores and all the services required for these goods, including rail links. 2023 will be a year of investment, moving forward in terms of connectivity-related infrastructure. Its policy of rebates and charge reductions will be stepped up to increase competitiveness. These include a 40% tax rebate on citrus fruit and a 25% rebate on potatoes from the first tonne, in both cases. PORT OF CASTELLON
