Spain’s privileged geostrategic position, together with the efficiency and quality of its services, place the state-owned port system at the forefront of Europe in terms of maritime connectivity, with more than 200 international connections, enabling it to reliably handle fruit and vegetable import and export flows. In terms of trade, the main destinations for Spanish fruit and vegetable exports are concentrated in Europe, especially Germany, France, and the United Kingdom, while in nonEU trade, markets such as the UnitedStatesstandout. Interms of imports, North Africa, with Morocco as a key partner, occupiesanimportantposition, along with other European countries. Puertos del Estado highlights that “Spanish ports offer a comprehensive, competitive, and highly specialized logistics solution for fruit and vegetable traffic.” This offer combines modern infrastructure, services adapted to perishable goods, andhighmaritime connectivity, which “enables us to meet the quality, speed, and safety requirements demanded by the fresh produce supply chain,” the public body emphasizes.
