Además, Gijón tiene un tejido empresarial de servicios turísticos con experiencia y capacidad para gestionar grandes cantidades de pasajeros. Entre sus clientes se encuentran tanto compañías de cruceros orientadas al mercado del lujo como las que manejan flotas con grandes buques especializadas en el turismo familiar. Asturias, como destino de cruceros, presenta una interesante oferta turística lejos de las aglomeraciones de destinos más consolidades. WHY IS THE PORT AUTHORITY ATTENDING SEATRADE EUROPE 2023? The Port of Gijon is keen to consolidate its position on the European Atlantic cruise routes, having recorded significant growth in recent years, from 20 calls per year to around 30. Its port infrastructure means that it can accommodate cruise ships of up to 350 metres in length, with no draft limit. In addition, Gijon has an experienced tourist service networkwhichhas the capacity tohandle large numbers of passengers. La Autoridad Portuaria de Ceuta acude a Seatrade con los Servicios Turísticos de Ceuta, que asiste por primera vez, al objeto de potenciar el destino Ceuta. Igualmente, acudirá junto con Suncruise Andalucía en busca de un impulso al tráfico de cruceros dentro de esta alianza estratégica. WHY IS THE PORT AUTHORITY ATTENDING SEATRADE EUROPE 2023? The Port Authority of Ceuta aims to enhance its position as a modern port located at the southern end of the Straits of Gibraltar. “It is an ideal call for ships sailing to the western Mediterranean, the Atlantic coast, Morocco and on itineraries to Madeira and the Canary Islands and it cruise terminal is just a few metres from the city centre”. The Port Authority of Ceuta is attending Seatrade with the Ceuta Tourist Service, which is participating for the first time, to promote Ceuta as a destination. It will also be part of the Suncruise Andalucía delegation which aims to boost cruise traffic in this region. POR QUÉ ASISTE A SEATRADE EUROPE 2023 Ferrol se presenta como un destino de cruceros consolidado, pero con gran potencial de crecimiento. Todo ello gracias a las infraestructuras portuarias en el corazón de la ciudad y a los diferentes atractivos turísticos e históricos de Ferrol y de los extraordinarios recursos del entorno. En Ferrol, el atraque se produce en el corazón de la ciudad, en Ferrol Vello, el barrio histórico por el que los cruceristas se pueden desplazar. Además, ahí comienza una de las rutas de peregrinación a Santiago de Compostela, el Camino Inglés. Desde este punto, además, se accede al barrio de A Magdalena, de una construcción singular en forma de tableta perfectamente trazada y que aspira a convertirse en Patrimonio de la Humanidad. Durante su estancia se pueden visitar otros puntos de interés como el Museo Naval y Arsenal Militar. WHY IS THE PORT AUTHORITY ATTENDING SEATRADE EUROPE 2023? Ferrol is a consolidated cruise destination, although it has huge potential for growth thanks to the port infrastructures in the heart of the city and the different tourist and historic attractions in Ferrol and the surrounding areas. Cruise shops dock in the heart of the city, in Ferrol Vello, the historic district which is ideal for cruise passengers to take a stroll around. Moreover, this is the starting point of the English Way, one of the pilgrimage routes to Santiago de Compostela. Visitors should also go to A Magdalena district, a unique construction in the shape of a perfectly laid out grid system which aspires to become a World Heritage Site, the Naval Museum and the Military Arsenal.
