As an inland seaport, ships can dock directly in the heart of the city. The cruise terminal is a further attraction as it is an example of sustainable, functional and modern architecture. The building has been constructed with real, high-cube, recycled containers adapted to the needs of cruise passengers. MAIN DEVELOPMENTS SHOWCASED AT SEATRADE CRUISE GLOBAL The cruise terminal is located on the Las Delicias Quay, a space with restaurant and leisure facilities, an underground car park, gardens and the Seville Aquarium, which is perfect for visitors to go on a journey around the ocean’s ecosystems, a journey that reproduces the steps that Magellan and his expedition took in their first round-the-world voyage. THE MAIN ATTRACTIONS OF THIS DESTINATION ARE... A former port of the Indies, Seville was one of the most important cities in the world five centuries ago. Long before that, Romans and Arabs left their mark on the city. Today, the city has a richmonumental heritage, including the Cathedral, the Alcazar and the Archive of the Indies, which have been declared World Heritage Sites. A mild climate and popular festivals such as the Easter religious celebrations and the April Fair are held just a few meters from the Port and attract millions of visitors each year. INFRASTRUCTURE FOR CRUISE SHIPS In October 2021, the Port of Tarragona inaugurated the Moll de Balears, a four-hectare esplanade for cruise ships over 350 meters long. The concessionaire is build a new state-of-theart modular cruise terminal that will be operational in 2023. The extension of the Levante Breakwater, with a 700-meterlong berthing line, and the Moll de Costa, which caters for cruise ships less than 140 meters long, are still in operation. Tarragona is a key port in the Mediterranean due to its proximity to the airports of Barcelona and Reus.
