Cruisepassengers arriving in theoldest city inWestern Europe can walk to the historic quarter in just a few minutes. The port has 2,000metres of berthing lines with depths of up to 11 metres, which can handle the world’s largest cruise ships. It also has two strategically located passenger terminals. MAIN DEVELOPMENTS SHOWCASED AT SEATRADE CRUISE GLOBAL The Port of Cadiz continues working in 2022 to increase the appeal of the destination in conjunction with all the relevant stakeholders through the Cruise Observatory. The initiatives implemented in recent years have been complemented on this occasion by the improvement of the services offered to cruise ships that stay overnight in the city, which have increased considerably this year. THE MAIN ATTRACTIONS OF THIS DESTINATION ARE... The attractions of the city and province of Cadiz are indisputable. From flamenco, declared an Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity, to the ancient Roman city of Baelo Claudia, its historical legacy is almost unrivalled. INFRASTRUCTURE The cruise terminal currently has a 709 metre-long, 12 metredeep berthing line and a surface area of 4,000 squaremetres. It has shaded rest areas, security force booths, a passenger information point and a car park. MAIN DEVELOPMENTS SHOWCASED AT SEATRADE CRUISE GLOBAL The Port Authority of Cartagena, following the outbreak of the pandemic, has worked with the shipping lines as well as with government agencies to adapt its facilities, and to ensure that museums and interpretive centers are a safe tourism destination. COVID-19-free hospitality and shopping has also been ensured. MAIN ATTRACTIONS The Port of Cartagena is a must for cruise traffic in Spain, due to its strategic position in the Mediterranean.
