The BEST, APM Terminals Barcelona and Port Nou terminals currently have more than 3,500 permanent reefer connections, positioning the port as a leader in the Mediterranean in this traffic. Specifically, 2.750 reefer connections are located in BEST. The Port is an active participant in the main international trade fairs and congresses on cold chain logistics, such as Fruit Logistica, Fruit Attraction and Cool Logistics, which will be held this year for the 14th time in the Catalan capital. SHIPPING CONNECTIVITY The Port’s location and maritime connections make it an important port that opens up new business opportunities in the agri-food sector. The enclave receives more than 20 calls a year from the world’s largest container ships. JSV’s Med Turkey Express shipping line, with Marmedsa as its agent, connects Barcelona to the Turkish ports of Gebze and Ambarli in three days, and Suardiaz Group’s regular Ro-ro cargo line between Barcelona-Tangiers, designed for containers and temperature-controlled platforms, reinforces the port’s commitment to and consolidation of this traffic.
