Outside the European Union, the top destination was the United Kingdom, where exports of fresh fruit and vegetables stood at €2,104 million in 2021, up 11% on the previous year. Norway also deserves special mention, with €153 million, 10% more than in 2020. According to FEPEX, ”the figures once again reveal the scarce alternatives that non-European markets offer Spanish fruit and vegetables”, despite the ”significant efforts” that are being made, both by governments and by growers and exporters.
