91 CARGAS PROYECTO / PROJECT CARGO · 2025 EL PUERTO EXTERIOR DE A CORUÑA ALBERGÓ EL EMBARQUE DE PIEZAS METÁLICAS PARA UN PROYECTO DEL CERN EN ESTADOS UNIDOS El Puerto Exterior de A Coruña acogió, en mayo de 2024, una nueva operativa especial, con el embarque de 5.800 toneladas de piezas metálicas destinadas a un proyecto científico en Dakota del Sur (Estados Unidos), en el que participan la empresa gallega Horta Coslada y el CERN (Organización Europea para la Investigación Nuclear). Las piezas fueron fabricadas en las instalaciones de Horta Coslada Construcciones Metálicas, situadas en el polígono de Sabón, contiguo al Puerto Exterior. Se transportaron a Estados Unidos en el buque “TBC Kailash” hasta el puerto de Houston (Texas). Desde allí, continuaron viaje por tierra hasta Dakota del Sur. La operación de embarque corrió a cargo de Marítima Consiflet, como consignataria del buque, y de Terminales Marítimos de Galicia (TMGA) como estibadora de la carga. Desde Sabón, Horta Coslada ha exportado por el Puerto Exterior grandes estructuras para la construcción de puentes en Rumanía y Colombia, un prototipo de eólica marina en las islas Canarias y estructuras para una explotación minera en Senegal, entre otros proyectos. Las instalaciones de Punta Langosteira se han consolidado en el sector de project cargo por su superficie terrestre, calados superiores a 20 metros y su conexión directa con el polígono de Sabón y la red de autovías. THE OUTER PORT OF A CORUÑA HOSTED THE SHIPMENT OF METAL PARTS FOR A CERN PROJECT IN THE UNITED STATES The Outer Port of A Coruña hosted, in May 2024, a new special operation, with the shipment of 5,800 tons of metal parts destined for a scientific project in South Dakota (United States), involving the Galician company Horta Coslada and CERN (European Organization for Nuclear Research). The parts were manufactured at the facilities of Horta Coslada Construcciones Metálicas, located in the Sabón industrial park, next to the Outer Port. They were transported to the United States on the ship ”TBC Kailash” to the port of Houston (Texas). From there, they continued their journey by land to South Dakota. The loading operation was carried out by Marítima Consiflet, as consignee of the vessel, and Terminales Marítimos de Galicia (TMGA) as stevedore of the cargo. From Sabón, Horta Coslada has exported through the Outer Port large structures for the construction of bridges in Romania and Colombia, an offshore wind power prototype in the Canary Islands and structures for a mining operation in Senegal, among other projects. The Punta Langosteira facilities have consolidated their position in the project cargo sector due to their extended land space, the drafts of over 20 meters and their direct connection with the Sabón industrial park and the highway network.
