Cargó dos barcazas en cubierta del “Hudsongracht”, de Spliethoff, operado en este caso por Sevenstar, empresa filial de Spliethoff. La operativa consistió en remolcar las barcazas desde Sliedrecht (Holanda) hasta el puerto de Amberes (Bélgica), dejando ambas barcazas al lado del buque para que las mismas grúas del barco, trabajando en tándem con spreaders, las levantaran y cargaran en cubierta. Cada barcaza tiene unas medidas de 49,05 metros de eslora, 9,05 metros de manga y un peso de 490 toneladas. En total, unas 30 personas trabajaron en la operativa: toda la tripulación del buque, una persona de la terminal Nova Natie, dos load masters de Sevenstars (que coordinaron la operativa), un equipo de buzos (que aseguraron que la sujeción de las grúas en la base de las barcazas estaba bien hecha) y un equipo de soldadores (que crearon las fijaciones en cubierta para crear los puntos de trincaje). El único problema que surgió fue que las barcazas tenían agua dentro y hubo que utilizar bombas para sacarla y así evitar que el peso total fuera mayor y problemas de estabilidad. Fue un día para traer las barcazas a Amberes y dos días de operaciones para la operativa de carga, estiba y trincaje. El destino de la carga es St. John’s NB (Canadá). ACROSS LOGISTICS TOWS AND LOADS TWO 49.05-METER-LONG, 490-TON BARGES Across Logistics completed an outstanding project in early April. It loaded two barges on deck of Spliethoff ’s ”Hudsongracht”, operated in this case by Spliethoff’s subsidiary Sevenstar. The operation consisted of towing the barges from Sliedrecht (The Netherlands) to the port of Antwerp (Belgium), leaving both barges alongside the ship so that the ship’s own cranes, working in tandem with spreaders, could lift and load them on deck. Each barge measures 49.05 meters long, 9.05 meters wide and weighs 490 tons. In total, some 30 people worked on the operation: the entire crew of the vessel, one person from the Nova Natie terminal, two Sevenstars load masters (who coordinated the operation), a team of divers (who ensured that the attachment of the cranes to the base of the barges was properly done) and a team of welders (who created the deck fixings to create the lashing points). The only problem that arose was that the barges had water in them and pumps had to be used to remove the water to limit the overall weight and avoid stability problems. It took one day to bring the barges to Antwerp and two days of operations for the loading, stowage and lashing operations. The destination of the cargo is St. John’s NB (Canada).
